How do we build trust with communities, and what can we do better?

How do we build trust with communities, and what can we do better?

Marc will be on our UKREiiF panel session, where we’ll delve into the value of developing with a conscience. He will be sharing stories from our work - where we collaborate with communities, architects, urban designers, developers and local authorities to create spaces and places with meaning, identity, and purpose. From strategic place plans, public art planning to bold, site-specific interventions, our projects put people at the heart of place.

Wednesday 21st May, 12.30pm - 1.30pm, Industry in Focus Pavilion
With: Leah Stuart, director at Civic Engineers / Marc Cairns, managing director at New Practice / Praise Obadimeji, ambassador at Regeneration Brainery / Tim Heatley, co-founder at Capital&Centric / David McEwan, divisional director for property, city deal and major projects at Glasgow City Council / Jacqueline Esimaje-Heath, growth director at L&Q

With development involving so many complex agendas and voices, our panel will explore how we strike the right balance between commercial viability, environmental priorities, governance requirements and, most importantly, building the trust of the communities involved.

We’ll ask:
💭 How can we develop with care and authenticity?
💭 What lessons can we learn, so that shared decision-making and authentic approaches shape the future of our built environment?
💭 What are some of the human stories that bring it all to life?
