An evidence‑led review exploring how local assets can be better used to support long‑term community benefit and town centre vitality
Many Studios is a creative workspace supporting artists, designers and makers through affordable and flexible studio provision. New Practice helped shape and support the development of the organisation, creating spaces that respond to the needs of creative communities. The project fosters collaboration, shared resources and access to space, enabling creative practice to thrive. It reflects a broader commitment to supporting cultural infrastructure and sustaining creative ecosystems within the city

A feasibility study testing adaptive reuse options for a historic civic building, unlocking new community and economic uses

The transformation of Cumberland Street Station reimagines a disused rail station as a community asset. Through engagement and design development, the project explored how the building could be adapted to support local use. By retaining and celebrating the existing structure, it demonstrates the value of adaptive reuse in creating meaningful, accessible spaces. The project highlights how heritage buildings can be reactivated to serve contemporary community needs

Detailed and technical design to support a DIY arts organisation build and develop a new arts-led cinema, space for visual art and creative workspace
York Road Circular Economy Hub
A proposal to transform a disused London Underground station into a circular economy hub, bringing together food enterprise, material reuse and community activity. The project reimagines the station as a multifunctional workspace and civic destination, supporting food innovation, plastic recycling and shared public uses centred around a communal ‘mess hall’ space
Detailed and technical design to support a DIY local business in developing a thriving award winning cafe and licensed bar space alongside a community-run exhibition and gallery space
Sports, Community and Leisure Feasibility Study
This feasibility study explored opportunities to enhance facilities and community use. Working with stakeholders, the project assessed spatial, operational and social potential, identifying ways to expand the club’s role as a civic asset. The study balanced practical requirements with broader ambitions for community benefit, supporting future decision-making around investment and development

A collection of feasibility and viability studies for communities in Scotland, including high street living, expanding family business with a circular economy and sustainability driver and understanding an expansion of offer at a faith-led site
Future of Perth’s Buildings
Working with project partners and Perth & Kinross Council to expand on a town centre strategy supporting reuse of existing vacant and derelict buildings for a range of uses including: community, public sector and private business

Explores the regeneration of Carluke town centre through the adaptive reuse of vacant and underused buildings. Working with existing assets, the project identifies opportunities to introduce new social, cultural and enterprise uses shaped by community priorities, supporting an active and resilient town centre

Elderpark Creative Hub explores the adaptive reuse of underused housing association assets in Govan to create a neighbourhood workspace for the creative and third sectors
